Hi Bryan,

in a few days the service will also provide a JSON based service which is easy to use by different programming languages. The beta-test api link can be found at http://www.block-disposable-email.com/usage.php

Give it a try!

If you need help please contact me,

Hi,

I run a service you can also use in your script to detect disposable mail addresses. It uses a combination of your proposal (MX hosts, a bit tricky by the way) as well as manually detected new services.

Have a look at http://www.block-disposable-email.com/

Regards,
Gerold

Chris,
Thanks for the comment!

I hadn't thought of that, but that makes a TON of sense. In reality, I never meant to have to compile this list-- it just came up. So far it's getting the job done admirably, but I'll wager that will change over time. Some time I might actually have to get a little more sophisticated, but for now it's too much work.

Have you considered looking at the MX DNS record(s) for the domains? Keeping a list of IPs for disposable email providers might be more effective. Hopefully no one will[/does] use this idea, as the thought of fighting disposable email services saddens me. I suppose if you did use this idea you're potentially telling an attacker with an authoritative DNS server and MX record under their control what your DNS server is, and this could aid in some elaborate and unlikely poisoning attack... (but lets up the hype on that to discourage folks). :)

I had to compile this list. Unfortunately most of these guys are slippery-- on purpose. But maybe this will just have to become the place to keep a up-to-date compilation.

Did you compile this list by hand or do you know of a site that functions daily with up to date lists?
